It is the contribution from the village that will ensure Detroit's first and only hip-hop theatre festival is a success. Every dollar raised for the BRED Hip-Hop Theatre Festival is deeply appreciated and goes directly to the festival's production - including performing artists, playwrights, dramaturgs, designers, stage managers, and festival staff.
About BRED - BRED is an acronym for Beats Rhymes Everything Detroit. Founded in 2011 by Alesyn "Al Wu" McCall (Filmmaker, Hip-Hop Artist, DJ, Arts Administrator) and Richard “King Kvll” McCall, II (DJ, Producer, Hip-Hop artist, Community Organizer), BRED is a collective of artists of different mediums from the city who want to uplift and celebrate homegrown talent.
